Vanda /Neofinetia falcata

Vanda falcata is a very rewarding species that is native to China, Japan, and Korea. This species is very strongly fragrant at night, smelling very similar to a gardenia flower. Vanda falcata has the title of one of the first -if not the first- orchid to be widely cultivated, as they were prized by wealthy Japanese families in the 1600s. This hardy species remains compact while putting out many keikis as they age. These can flower year-round but peak in the spring and early summer months. Plants are flowering size in 3" pots and in 4" clay pots.
