As a first-bloom seedling, this clone was awarded Grand Champion of the 2007 Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. Cymbidium Geno's Gem 'Emerald Fire' FCC/AOS was the winner of the 2020 Ernest Hetherington Award for the best Cymbidium of the year and the 2020 Butterworth Prize for the best specimen plant of the year given by the American Orchid Society. Long, pendulous inflorescences with high count of beautifully formed flowers of heavy substance, intense color and velvet texture. Unlike standard Cymbidium, this highly floriferous hybrid will also bloom well in warmer climates like South Florida (as well as the cooler climates where Cymbidium are usually grown). Plants are flowering size in 6" pots.
