Bulbophyllum fletcherianum
Bulbophyllum fletcherianum, also known by some as Bulb spiesii, is a giant growing species from the same section as Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis. This species comes from New Guinea where it attracts flies as pollinators to its stinky flowers. This species can be differentiated from Bulb phalaenopsis in part by the higher flower count, longer and more slender flowers that lack the green hairs like Bulb. phalaenopsis, and supposedly the ability to grow longer leaves that can reach up to six feet in length! Plants are larger near-blooming size plants in 6" plastic pots with the largest leaves averaging out around 20 inches long.
