Cattleya Lacey Michelle Matherne (1765)
Cattleya tigrina 'Paul' AM/AOS x Cattleya aclandiae 'Krull's Black Ride'
Cattleya Lacey Michelle Matherne is one of our favorite examples of a primary Cattleya hybrid. It is an easy grower, smells fantastic, and can flower up to four times per year! As young plants they generally produce two to four flowers per inflorescence, but mature plants can boast between eight and twelve flowers per inflorescence making the whole grow space smell fantastic! We expect these seedlings to have particularly dark sepals and petals since the aclandiae parent is a nigrescens variety which has petals that are nearly solid burgundy/black. Plants are near flowering size in 4" pots. Pictured is a plant from an older grex without the nigrescens parent.
