Prosthechea cochleata is a wonderful sequentially blooming orchid from the Cattleya family that is native to a wide range including parts of Florida, the Carribean, and Central and South America. These are also known as the clamshell orchid or the cockleshell orchid and - in my opinion - remind me of an octopus! Psh. cochleata is a great species that is worth keeping in any collection. Plants are flowering size in 3" pots.
